George Michael Covers "True Faith"

George Michael has revamped New Order's True Faith hit to help raise cash for charity.

The proceeds from the single will go to Comic Relief, a British charity which previously received the proceeds from George Michael's "As" hit.

Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis is thrilled with George Michael'scontribution to the charity, revealing that he has been very generous with his cash and time in recent years.

"Over the years, George has been the most tremendous supporter of Comic Relief. Out of the blue one year he gave us all the cash from the release of As, his single with Mary J Blige. Then he did a brilliant Little Britain sketch".

"But, most excitingly, he's giving Comic Relief all the money from his new single, True Faith. It's always so moving when people stick with us year after year - and we're thrilled and delighted about the song, and the wonderful video that goes with it."

"We promise we'll use every penny we make from it to save and change lives in Africa and all over the UK." Richard Curtis, Vice Chair, Comic Relief

The video will premiere at on March 19th at the end of Comic Relief's annual Red Nose Day telethon.

Here's the original version of "True Faith", sung by New Order in 1987.

George Michael and Alicia Keys - Live in Dubai!

George Michael and Alicia Keys turned the Abu Dhabi Zayed Sports City Stadium into a giant club on Monday night, giving their near 30,000 fans two unforgettable performances.

Alicia opened the night with Go Ahead from her latest 2007 album, "As I Am", followed by hits like "Fallin", "A Woman’s Worth" and "How Come You Don’t Call Me" from "Songs in A Minor" (2001), "You Don’t Know my Name", "Diary and Karma" from "The Diary of Alicia Keys" (2003), and "Superwoman", "Like You’ll Never See Me Again" and "Teenage Love Affair" (As I Am).

She exited backstage after singing an acoustic version of "Fallin". The crowd clapped and cheered long enough for her to return and perform the long-awaited hit "No One".

However, reviews confirm that the star of the evening was George Michael. Performing at his last tour concert, the final stop on his 25 Live Tour, Michael 45, showed that he remains the energetic showman and talented singer and songwriter he’s always been.

GM shook the stadium impressing three generations with hits such as "Fastlove", "Faith", "Listen Without Prejudice", "Father Figure", "Older" and "Patience".

New George Michael Song - "December Song (I Dreamed of Christmas)"

George Michael is giving his fans a new Christmas song, which will be available for free on Christmas day, on www.georgemichael.com

"December Song (I Dreamed of Christmas)" will get its first air play on Monday.

The song will be available on George Michael's official site and some other online music outlets, his spokeswoman said.

It is the first Christmas song to be released by GM since the 1984 classic Wham! hit "Last Christmas".

The new release was originally promised by the singer on stage during the last night of his Final two sell-out concerts at London’s Earls Court, billed as his “last arena shows in the UK”, in August.

It was written and produced by the singer and co-written with his friend David Austin.

George Michael - To Perform in Abu Dhabi

George Michael will be performing in Abu Dhabi in a lavish hotel in November. He recently announced that he would retire, however who could refuse a $1.7 million gig?

The singer performed at London's Earl Court in August in a set of final concerts dubbed The Final Two - fuelling speculation he is to quit performing.

According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, tickets to the show are expected to be sold for US$340 each.

George Michael sure seems to be doing much better with this gig lined up after once again being arrested for possession of drugs in London last month.

Instead of Abu Dhabi, wouldn't everyone prefer to hear new music from GM?

George Michael - Arrested Again...

Sadly, George Michael still hasn't learnt his lesson and has once again been arrested for possessing class A and class C drugs (crack cocaine and cannabis). Apparently, he was arrested after a tip-off from a suspicious toilet attendant after he was seen loitering in underground loose in London's Hampstead Heath on Friday.

It's not the first time he was arrested, back in 2006 he was found slumped over the wheel of his car as a result of taking drugs. We also all know how he was arrested in 1998 in a public bathroom in L.A for indecent exposure.

The Home Office website stipulates that possession of a Class A drug can result in a prison sentence of up to seven years, an unlimited fine or both. But a Home Office spokesman said that “circumstances and context” must be taken into consideration in such cases and that drug laws needed to be “flexible” to not only punish drug use, but also to help those suffering from addiction.

As a huge George Michael fan, it is disappointing to see such a talented man resort to drugs so much to battle whatever demons he has in him. He clearly is troubled and can't seem to get out of it...
