It’s official, Lin Yu Chun will release his first album in English and Chinese with Sony in July. Lin Yu Chun came to fame when he performed Whitney Houston’s hit song “I Will Always Love You” at a talent contest show in Taiwan, titled “Avenue to Stardom”.
Chun was voted off the show after singing the song, however he became an over night sensation after his performance became viral. Since then, he performed with William Shatner, made an appearance on Ellen’s show and sang “Amazing Grace”.
Yu Chun, whose lifelong nickname has been “Little Fatty”, told the Associated Press, "You don't have to be a good-looking man or woman to succeed. Just be yourself and try your best."
In a statement released by Sony, Yu Chun said, "I still can't believe this is real."
The world needs to get back to looking more into talent rather than only looks, there are so many untalented people out there that only use their looks to get ahead. This is great news, and hopefully we’ll continue seeing more artists such as Lin Yu Chun and Susan Boyle.
