Katy Perry Teams up with Snoop Dogg for “California Gurls”

Katy Perry California Gurls

Katy Perry’s new single “California Gurls” which features Snoop Dogg has just been released. It’s a fun, upbeat summer song which will surely become a hit.

The track is confirmed to be included in Katy's forthcoming third still untitled studio album. It is said to have been released in answer of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ New York song “Empire State of Mind”. If that’s true, I’m not sure that this song can become the new official California song.

"It's so great that 'Empire State of Mind' is huge and that everyone has the New York song, but what the f**k? What about LA? What about California?" Katy Perry tells Rolling Stone. "It's been a minute since we had a California song and especially from a girl's perspective. We took the references of Prince, which is always a great reference, and some of the '90s, almost house music references."

Katy will perform “California Gurls” at the upcoming MuchMusic Video Awards.

Snoop Dogg – One Life To Live

Snoop Dogg One Life To Live
Snoop Dogg is once again going to appear on “One Life To Live” on February 24th. Snoop is very excited to be part of the show where he will play himself and perform.

"As I said when I was here last time, I've been a fan of 'One Life to Live' since I was a baby because my momma always had it on," Snoop said. "It's cool to come back and hang with Bo Buchanan and the people in Llanview and rock out with them."

The makers of the show are also very thrilled with Snoop on the show.

"Snoop Dogg's desire to return to 'One Life to Live' is a tremendous show of support for our show," said Executive Producer Frank Valentini. "His unique contributions to the entertainment industry are vast as a performer, innovator and businessman and we are honored to have him back to perform and act on 'OLTL [One Life to Live]."

Snoop is also working on another film project where he will play a superhero.

On the music side, Snoop just released “Malice In Wonderland” so make sure to get your copy!
